Whole Lime Margarita

Description

Made with thin-skinned limes, these margaritas are bright and flavorful-nothing reminiscent of a bottled mix! The lime rind adds beautiful color and a burst of tart, but not overly sweet, taste. You’ll never make a margarita the old way again.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium thin-skinned limes
  • 2 cups ice cold water
  • 1 cup tequila
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau®)
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ice, as needed
  • 6 slices lime

Instructions

  1. Cut limes into quarters; remove and discard the center part of the rinds. Transfer lime quarters to a blender with cold water
  2. tequila
  3. sugar
  4. orange-flavored liqueur
  5. and salt. Blend until completely smooth
  6. about 1 minute.
  7. Strain mixture into a large measuring cup or small pitcher. Serve over ice and garnish with lime slices.
