Description
Made with thin-skinned limes, these margaritas are bright and flavorful-nothing reminiscent of a bottled mix! The lime rind adds beautiful color and a burst of tart, but not overly sweet, taste. You’ll never make a margarita the old way again.
Ingredients
- 2 medium thin-skinned limes
- 2 cups ice cold water
- 1 cup tequila
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau®)
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ice, as needed
- 6 slices lime
Instructions
- Cut limes into quarters; remove and discard the center part of the rinds. Transfer lime quarters to a blender with cold water
- tequila
- sugar
- orange-flavored liqueur
- and salt. Blend until completely smooth
- about 1 minute.
- Strain mixture into a large measuring cup or small pitcher. Serve over ice and garnish with lime slices.
