Panko Crusted Halibut with White Serrano and Cilantro Sauce

Yummy crunchy halibut. You can add additional spices, such as paprika or cayenne pepper, to the flour for breading, if desired.

  • 4 (6 ounce) halibut fillets, skin removed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper, divided
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt, divided
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup minced shallot
  • 1 teaspoon minced serrano pepper
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 cup roughly chopped cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup canola oil
