Description
Chocolaty loaf of bread that’s not too sweet. Great with peanut butter, toasted, and for breakfast. Kids LOVE it!
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- ½ cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 3 cups bread flour
- ⅔ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
- In a small bowl
- dissolve cocoa powder in boiling water.
- In a separate bowl
- dissolve yeast and 2 teaspoons sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy
- about 10 minutes.
- Place cocoa mixture
- yeast mixture
- bread flour
- remaining 2/3 cup white sugar
- salt
- vegetable oil and egg in bread machine pan. Select basic Bread cycle; press Start.
