Healthier Apple Crisp II

Description

A simply wonderful dessert that’s healthier with less sugar, unpeeled apples, white whole wheat flour and walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups unpeeled, cored, and sliced apples
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C).
  2. Place the sliced apples in a 9×13 inch pan. Mix the white sugar
  3. 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together
  4. and sprinkle over apples. Pour water evenly over all.
  5. Combine the oats
  6. 1 cup flour
  7. brown sugar
  8. baking powder
  9. baking soda
  10. walnuts and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes.
